Howdy Phil, we have some good beginner/intermediate terrain here in the park. I would suggest a warmup lap on Easy Rider that starts right off the top of the gondola. Next run you could step it up to Upper Mineshaft which is still a pretty mellow ...

Here are the race courses for the 08' downhill race series.

6-15-08
All classes: upper to middle Karpiel.
Expert / Pro: lower Dogbone (slabs) to bottom of Karpiel (vietnam) to
stadium jump finish.
Sport / Beginner: lower Phodogg to stadium jump finish.

7-20
All classes: Boondocks, top to bottom. (first time ever)

8-10
Expert / Pro: Dogbone, top to bottom, stadium jump finish..
Sport / Beginner: upper Karpiel, to Speed Control, to Phodogg, to
staduim jump finish.

9-14
All classes: Gypsy. (first time ever)

10-5
All classes: Second annual Livewire Classic.

Weekend of the first race

I hope that everyone appreciates cross country riders a little more after the traverse to the top of the course today. Just so everyone understands why, we needed to keep as many trails under the Zephyr lift open to the public as possible. Everything seemed to go fairly smooth and I reckon that our next race over on Boondocks will be all time. First weekend with Zephyr

Our first weekend with the upper mountain open was pretty amazing, I'm not gonna lie. Good times were had by all. The solid work of the trail crew is really paying off. A few more warm days and we'll be able to get some more of Vista rolling for your riding pleasure. See ya'll on the hill.

Northstar Opening Weekend

Northstar opened a little early this season and we all got a feel for the high sierra in springtime. I got rained and snowed on the other day making the riding pretty sweet. If you decided to stay home this weekend you missed out, the trail crews' hard work has really paid off on the lower mountain. I'm glad to say that they are moving up the hill to get the Zephyr side of the hill ready for when the snows gone here in a couple of weeks.
